Getting the fit right.
A well-fitted watch sits comfortably on the wrist without sliding around or leaving marks. Every Hetzler ships with a complimentary precision screwdriver so you can size your bracelet at home without needing any additional tools.
How to Know Your Size
Before removing any links, wear the watch for a few minutes and identify where it sits naturally on your wrist. A properly fitted bracelet allows you to slide one finger underneath it comfortably. If two fingers fit easily, the bracelet is too loose. If you cannot slide any fingers underneath, it is too tight.
Removing Links
Most Hetzler bracelets use screw links. Each link is held together by a small flathead screw visible on the side of the bracelet. Your complimentary screwdriver is sized specifically for these screws.
Step 1. Place the watch on a clean flat surface face down. Identify which links you want to remove. Remove links evenly from both sides of the clasp to keep the watch centered on your wrist.
Step 2. Insert the screwdriver tip fully into the screw head. The tip must fill the entire width of the slot. A tip that is too small will slip and strip the screw. Turn counterclockwise to loosen.
Step 3. Once the screw is loose, hold it carefully as you remove it. Screws are small and easily lost. Keep all removed links and screws together in a safe place in case you need to add length back in the future.
Step 4. Reattach the bracelet by connecting the remaining links and screwing them back together clockwise until snug. Do not overtighten.
Step 5. Put the watch on and check the fit. Repeat until the bracelet sits correctly.
Clasp Micro-Adjustment
For small adjustments without removing links, your Hetzler deployant clasp has built-in micro-adjustment positions. Open the clasp, pull the inner blade slightly outward, reposition it to the next notch, and press it back in until it locks. This allows fine tuning of the fit without any tools.
